Wedding Favor

Choosing Wedding Favors

Congratulations, you are getting married! This is one of the most important events of your life. You are planning everything from the music to the wedding dress to the food at the reception. One thing that you may not have taken time to really consider, however, is wedding favors. There are many wedding favor ideas out there and you have many different choices for what to use as a wedding favor.

Cheap Wedding Favors

If you are on a budget or have already spent quite a bit on the wedding and reception, you may be looking for a cheap wedding favor idea. There are several ideas for these favors that will not break the bank. First, you could do something homemade. This includes hand painted ornaments around Christmas time (with your names and the wedding date on it), baked goods wrapped in tissue paper that follows your color scheme, or something along those lines. These favors are certainly cheaper than many other favors out there, but they show an aspect of personalization that other favors may not show.

Extravagant Wedding Favors

If you are not on a budget and are planning a truly spectacular, extravagant wedding, think about giving your guests something extravagant. If money is no object, your wedding favors could be gift baskets for each of the guests. You could put in them things that you and your new spouse love, like a gift certificate to a spa, your favorite chocolates, clothing, jewelry, etc. With an extravagant wedding, you have the option to truly go overboard with your wedding favors. Thank your guests for coming by giving them a goodie bag filled with things that they will enjoy!

Personalized Wedding Favors

Some of the best wedding favors are personalized favors. Some of these can be cheap, like the Christmas tree ornaments stated earlier. Some are not as cheap and include mugs or glasses with your names and the wedding date on them, key chains engraved with your names and the date, and even a mixed CD with all of the songs that have special meaning to you and your new spouse.

Despite all of these favor ideas, remember that you do not need to give your guests a favor for attending. They are attending because they care about you and want to celebrate your big day with you. If your budget prohibits a wedding favor for each guest, try not to worry. No one will notice that there were not any favors at the wedding!
